EFE12 A Yaozhou celadon bowl

Northern Song dynasty (960-1127)  

The bowl is of conical form with a slightly flaring rim and supported on a small short foot. Both the inside and outside are covered with an olive-green glaze with the exterior showing a band of concentric lines below the rim. The base is left unglazed.

Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Gerard Dissevelt.
Gerard Dissevelt (1912-1992) was a Dutch ambassador who was stationed in China and Japan during the 1950s.
