MF 21 A Longquan celadon ‘Luduan’ censer and cover

明 龍泉青瓷 甪端造型香爐

Ming dynasty, 15th-16th  centuy 

The well modelled mythical creature is standing four-square, the rounded body is carved with spiralling motifs issuing flames.The tail is applied in the form of a leaf above a circular aperture. The cover is in the form of the animal's head, raised up, with a curved horn at the top, the mouth open to reveal its tongue between two rows of teeth. It is covered overall with a lustrous grayish-green glaze.

Luduan are auspicious animals who are able to detect the truth and travel great distances in a short time.

時代：明朝，西元15至16世紀。
特徵：以瑞獸甪端為造型的香爐，圓形獸身上浮雕火焰螺旋紋，獸尾呈葉子造型。通體施富有光澤的灰綠色釉。
尺寸：高15公分。
