A Chinese Imari chamber pot and cover


Kangxi period (1662-1722)

The compressed globular body is painted on the sides in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilding with flowering branches of peony and chrysanthemum. The everted rim is painted with further branches.
one side has a circular handle applied with a ruyi head. The domed cover is surmounted by a bud finial and is painted with similar branches.
