A fine pair of ‘famille rose‘ tea bowls and saucers


Early Qianlong (1735-1795)

The chrysanthemum-form cups and saucers are painted in bright colours and gilt, the centre of the saucers and sides of the cups with a river scene depicting figures in a boat and houses, mountains and a flag on the other side of the river. The fluted sides are painted with panels of various geometric patterns embellished with flowering branches repeated below the rim of the bowls.
