The dish with moulded sides and a brown-dressed barbed rim is painted to the interior with a view of a Dutch coastal town, possibly Scheveningen. The scene shows three figures in a watery landscape, one with a cow on a lead. The exterior is painted with a scrolling border and has a fuku mark on the base.

Provenance: A Dutch private collection  

An identical dish is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and illustrated in Ayers, Impey and Mallet, Porcelain for Palaces, The Fashion for Japan in Europe 1650-1750, Oriental Ceramic Society, 1990, pl. 67, as well as a Meissen version, pl. 301. Two further dishes with this subject are in the Metropolitan Museum and illustrated by Barbara Brennan Ford and Oliver Impey in Japanese Art from the Gerry Collection in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1989, pls. 93 and 94.

特徵:折沿菱口,盤沿呈棕色。描繪荷蘭沿海小鎮(可能是席凡寧根)一景。底部有「福」字紋。
