WFE 03 A bronze mirror


Tang dynasty (618-907)

The mirror is of octafoil shape and cast with two mounted figures between two peaked rocks on th recessed centreand encircling the central knop. The rim is cast with scattered clouds and sprays. 
Green malachite encrustation.
12 cm diameter

Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Gerard Dissevelt Gerard Dissevelt (1912-1992) was a Dutch ambassador who was stationed in China and Japan during the 1950s.
