15th-16th century
The plaque is intricately carved in openwork, the slightly domed surface as a crested waterbird with outstretched wings, an elongated curling neck and long curved beak, amidst a dense background of entwined scrolling stems and leafy foliage issuing a lotus bloom and bud, all enclosed by twenty beads forming the oval frame. The underside is polished smooth.
The stone is of a pale celadon colour with slight russet inclusions.
