A bronze seal


Late Ming dynasty, 17th century 

The rectangular seal is surmounted by a seated lion cast with a curling mane, striped chest, a bushy tail and with a loose ball in its wide open mouth. The seal face bears characters in zhuanshu script.
The bronze has a mellow brown patina.
