This small water vessel in the form of a conch shell is finely incised with overall lines and covered with a 'robin's egg' glaze, turquoise with bubble-suffused purple mottling. The inside of the shell has an opaque turquoise glaze. It is resting on an open oval foot with four apertures and glazed in a dark aubergine glaze
Height 5.5 cm

This waterpot was used to hold clean water to moisten the brush. The water is not poured but scooped out with a little ladle.
