JB05 A set of five blue and white dishes


17th century 

The dishes are of flat form with everted scalloped brown-edged rim.
The interior is painted with a river scene with fishermen and boatsmen amongst two branches of pine and two waterbirds on the foreground. The ribbed rim is divided into alternate panels of bamboo, pine tree, prunus and geometric patterns. The reverse has a flowerscroll on the sides. The base has a cursively written Chinese six-character mark of Jiajing followed by a fuku mark.
