WFE 73 An archaistic bronze vase, fanggu

The vase is formed after an archaic bronze vessel, fanggu, with a square middle section supported on a square flared foot divided into eight sections by crenelated flanges and decorated with taotie masks and birds en profile around the foot. The widely flared neck has six upright cicada panels above a border of six snakes
