WFE 87 An archaistic bronze censer, fang ding

十七/十八世紀 仿古青銅方鼎

17th/18th century 

The bronze censer is modelled after an archaic form, fang ding, supported on four cylindrical feet with animal mask ends and set at the rim with two upright loop handles. The sides are divided into eight sections decorated with abstract archaistic designs below panels of elongated dragons en profile below the rim, all on a meander ground. 
Height 15.5 cm; on fitted wood stand

特徵：此器模仿古代青銅方鼎造型，兩側有直立的環形手柄，下接圓柱形獸面四足。外側回紋地上裝飾抽象的仿古圖案。
尺寸：高15.5公分；附尺寸相合之木座。
來源：荷蘭私人藏家於1930年代購得之舊藏。
